Kidlitosphere Blog Conference, Part 3

Just a few more pictures of the Kidlitosphere conference! Here are the participants, still smiling after a long day of discussing blogging. Don't we look like we all are ready to rush right home and kick our blogs up a notch? That's exactly what happened. People have been so enthused they've posted links to their blog posts about the conference here. You can head there and read all about the fun, if you so desire.

Meanwhile, here are a couple more pictures of Freckles posing with famous people!

On the left is another Deb, only this one has purple hair and horns! (Not really. We think we saw her with regular hair earlier in the day!) Her name is Deb Lund and she's written a very funny book called Monsters on Machines. She's also written a bunch of other fun books that you can see if you go to her site.

This is Freckles with Anastasia Suen, who is author of 110 books for children!!! (She's Deb's hero!) And the neat thing about her is that she is a real person. We discovered that you can talk to her and she doesn't act all famous or anything! How cool is that?

So, what did Deb and Freckles learn from this day surrounded by people who are just as crazy about blogging as we are? Well, here are three things that we are sure we learned:
  1. We have to learn how to Twitter. People were Twittering all over the place directly from the conference and we were Twitterless.
  2. We need to visit children's writing blogs more often and not be so shy about commenting when we do. (We certainly aren't shy about commenting on bunny blogs...hmmm...very interesting!)
  3. We need to stay later at these things so we can take part in any future zombie sock puppet videos. Example here.

That's it from the conference. We'll get back to our interrupted adventure "The Jungle" very soon! Keep watching this space...

Oh, it looks like you had a fun time. It was nice of you to take Freckles along so she could meet all these famous folks and learn how to bunny kick her blog up a notch. Should be interesting.

PS from Cyndi- Thanks for the compliment. I don't feel a day over 4 1/4.

That was a great report including some lessons learned. We fully approve your expense reimbursement request!

One of the Freckles Pix will be posted up on Sticky Buns as soon as the Slacker gets to it!

Hi, Deb - Thanks for visiting me over at Cuppa Jolie and commenting on my commenting post. I see that was a take away for you, too.

I'm one of those who got going on Twitter while there, but I tell you, I 've yet to really figure that one out.

A "hello" to Freckles, too.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Freckles already knows how to Twitter.

Hey Deb! It looks as if Freckles certainly made the rounds in Portland. I'm glad you had a good time. I confess that I recently deactivated my Twitter account after having had it for a few weeks-- it was just one more thing to wrangle.

I'm so glad you had this experience and can hardly wait to see what gifts come to you as a result.

Hi Deb and Freckles! Nancy and i had a GREAT time meeting everyone in Portland. Unfortunately I was on VA time (jet lag) and missed the whole sock puppet experience too! I'll have to catch up on Betsy Bird's blog.

Well, Freckles. It looks like you might be giving Miss Cinnamon a run for her money, going hither and yon. It's amazing to me how buns fit into all the right places and spaces just when they're about to be photographed. You're very cooperative and all so photogenic! Also, it looks like your mum really enjoyed herself and I for one am happy to see her back at her writing place, keeping us all on our toes with your latest adventure.
PS If your mum wants to really take her blog to the next level she could learn to embed her comments. She can learn all about it below either in the right hand margin or in the comments themselves:
