Freckles:Ray had said it was too dangerous to stay in one place too long. What did that mean? I wanted to know more. If there was something to be afraid of, I needed to know. I have faced a tornado, invaders, and an alien creature. I couldn’t imagine anything else that could scare me.
As I formed the words in my head to ask Ray about the danger, he stood on his back feet and said, “It’s been nice knowing you. Have a great life, Freckles.” He wiggled his ears, turned around, and without a glance back, he hopped away.

I'm going to wait until the next chapter to see what happened to Ray. First the election and now this, I can't do the cliff hanger thing right now. I'm going to be serene, very serene.
Ahhh. Ray was the best thing to come along in forever. Maybe Freckles needs a friend who will stick around.
